Pretty Purple Platforms

September 27, 2016 3 Comments

I’ll never forget the moment I laid eyes on you. I was casually browsing the “What’s New” section on Banana Republic’s website, and there you were. Hidden way down below the popular single-sole pumps and strappy sandals. Banana Republic took a gamble when they created you – unapologetically chunky platform, gaudy print, LAVENDER satin that demands the eye to look, and then look again.

You are the shoe that makes a woman question: “what do I wear them with?”
Only the brave will take you home, only the brave know that you are perfection, and that you will bring out the best in almost every outfit.

Take this outfit for example – great trousers, oversized white button up shirt, basic jean jacket. Now imagine this outfit paired with stilettos….ok. Not bad. And how about menswear-style brogues? A little better. But you, pretty purple platforms, you give this outfit the “it” factor.

Thank you for making me 5 inches taller, without any pain or discomfort. The world is a more interesting place at 5 feet 9 inches tall. Thank you for looking like “flower power” and “fashionista” at the same time. And thank you for blatantly stating “I don’t dress for men, I don’t even dress for women, I dress for ME!”

Hold on, am I the only one who has conversations with my shoes? #solemates xox

Thanks auntie Helen!! The shoes are very comfortable, believe it or not :)! It’s the platform that makes them easy to walk in.
