During the holidays Jocelyn got me a really nice camel coat for Christmas from Club Monaco, and in an unprecedented move, I decided to return it. The coat was beautiful; it looked great, fit me perfectly, and of course Jocelyn picked it out for me. She was sort of very annoyed with me for not keeping the coat. My motive: I was starting to see camel coats everywhere, and I wanted something different. Something that was really me, and also a timeless piece. As we were perusing the racks of Club Monaco in an attempt to exchange the camel coat, I saw it – this really cool, unconstructed houndstooth coat:
There was only one left – I actually think it was from last year’s Club Monaco AW 2015 collection. When I put it on, Jocelyn didn’t feel all that bad that I was exchanging the original.
Another reason why I really like this new coat – It’s so versatile. In this post, I decided to wear it with other simple pieces – a black sweater, ripped denim, and a pair of chelsea (GGMU) boots to better show the details of the coat. I’ll probably wear the coat in the future with more formal wear.
I got these chelsea boots (GGMU) while Jocelyn and I were in Lyon for the UEFA Euro Tournament. I was so close to returning them too (but she’s glad I kept them)…
Contrary to popular belief, I dress myself! and Jocelyn was not a fan of the scarf and hat combination. Was I able to pull it off?
