Weekly Bests 2019.1

Starting off the year right with some happy moments this past week:

MEETING AZIM FOR LUNCH DURING THE WORK WEEK

Azim and I run on very different schedules these days, so I typically only get to see him when he’s free in the evenings and on weekends. This week he happened to be downtown on a workday, and I was able to meet him during my lunch hour for a nice cappuccino at Rooster Coffee 😊 It was such a nice, unexpected break from my usual routine and seeing him made my day!

MY SHOES THAT I LOVE

I bought these extravagant, beautiful, perfect shoes last year before Azim proposed and I initiated my no-spending rule 😊 Wow, I’m so glad I did! They make me smile every time I look at them!

I saw them online when I was randomly browsing Nordstrom’s website, and knew I had to have them. They look exactly like the kind of shoe Marie Antoinette would wear, maybe even walking up to the guillotine. They are badass.

FINISHING MY FIRST BOOK OF THE YEAR

I’m almost embarrassed to include this, because the book is so corny…but I surprisingly enjoyed “You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life” by Jen Sincero. It was exactly the kind of fun, buoyant pep talk that I needed as I was planning out and setting my Near Year’s goals. Would I recommend it? Maybe read the polarizing reviews, and decide if it’s for you.

LIPSTICK OF THE WEEK

One of my New Year’s Resolutions was to wear lipstick once a week, and to hold myself accountable I’ll be posting pictures here! That also means blogging at least once a week…see what I did there? Self-improvement FTW!

This week’s lippie is Clinique’s Chubby Stick in Super Strawberry.

I also wore lippie the first week, which was Clinique’s Chubby Stick in Graped-Up. I’m starting light with the chubby sticks (which I LOVE) before tackling anything that required lip liner! Eek!
