I See a Pattern

I'm writing to you at the bright and early hour of 6 AM, with a spectacular view of Niagara Falls. I'm here for work, and it's been many years since my last visit - I can't believe I forgot how breathtaking the falls are! I got set up in an executive suite, which was totally unnecessary and extremely cushy. Bathrobe and chocolates are on my agenda tonight. The city itself is a tourist trap, with tons of neon lights and overpriced restaurants, but it's definitely alluring in its own glitzy, gaudy way. Did you know that Niagara Falls used to be a really big honeymoon destination, back in the day?On to the outfit! I know that statement necklaces like these were on trend circa 2011, but I still love them. I aim to never buy something unless I really have an affinity for it, so whether it's "in style" or not, it doesn't matter to me. I also have a very particular philosophy towards my jewellery - you won't see me wearing many pieces at a time, and I don't think I'm an accessories expert at all. Instead, I like to pick pieces that remind me of something, or someone, and I keep them forever. This statement necklace from anthropologie will always make me think of a dear friend of mine, and a specific time in my life. I love the peach colour of the tear drops, and that it ties with cloth strings instead of the usual metal lobster clasp. :)Happy Monday!I see a patternI see a patternI see a patternI see a patternI see a patternI see a patternShirt - Banana Republic / Pants - J.Crew / Shoes - J.Crew / Bag - Alexander Wang / Necklace - Anthropologie / Sunglasses - Karen Walker
