Denim on Denim
Denim on denim has been a fashion trend that's been around for a while but it only works if you do it right - there's a reason it's been nicknamed "The Canadian Tuxedo", and that's territory we want to avoid!
- Make sure the washes and colours vary in shade. In today's outfit, I'm wearing a light wash jacket with a pair of dark wash jeans.
- Accessories. Accessorize your double denim with some cool boots or a topcoat to add some more depth and layering. Hats look silly on me, but I've seen some dudes over at Kensington Market pull it off really well.
- Fit. I think slim-fitted jeans are the best way to go when doubling up. Loose fitted jeans are too reminiscent of the 90s, and some things should just stay in the past.
