What I Wore III

This is a double whammy!Whilst being sick over the past two weeks, I took some time off in the evenings to enjoy doing nothing. It was restorative and the best way to end winter. I still made a good effort to snap photos of my outfits during the day - and even roped in one of my teammates at work to be my photographer during our Starbucks runs :) - so now we have a post with a fortnight's worth of ensembles! Here we go:This is a very typical Monday outfit for me - my favourite comfy turtleneck that I waxed poetic about in my last post, and ditto for the pants. One good thing about cold weather - the outerwear! I think this sleek maxicoat really elevates the outfit, and the beret is cute and ties it all together :)Sweater, pants, and coat - Aritzia / Hat - The Bay / Boots - Marc Fisher / Glasses - BonlookIt's hard to tell at first glance, but the photo on the right shows the sweet details on my stockings...yes there are cats on my knees! I wish I had a good shot of the back - there are little tails with bows attached. I picked this pair up on my last trip to Paris - souvenirs like this are the best. I think back fondly of my trip each time I wear them :)Sweater - Banana Republic / Skirt - Zara / Tights - Calzedonia / Necklace - Banana Republic / Boots - Marc Fisher / Glasses - BonlookI'm having a love affair with this shirt right now, or rather, this BODYSUIT. That's right - this shirt has undies attached, and it's the best invention ever. I can bend, lift, jump, twist, or dance and this shirt will stay tucked into place. I can't even express how awesome this is!! As usual, I'm taking a page out of my mom's book - she used to wear bodysuits all the time, and only stopped because they weren't widely sold anymore. We can thank J.Crew for bringing them back.Bodysuit - J.Crew / Jeans - The Gap / Belt - J.Crew / Boots - Marc Fisher / Glasses - BonlookOk, so I was clearly having a duckface day. I loved wearing my beautiful pale blue silk scarf (a gift from my lovely friend Janet :) ) bandana style at work. It dressed down the prim tweed blazer, and injected some of my personality into an otherwise simple blazer/black pants combo. Another highlight for me this day was pairing my beret with my new SUPER chic prescription sunglasses from Bonlook. They're part of the Tessa Virtue collection, and I am obsessed!Blazer - J.Crew / Scarf - Kate Spade / Beret - The Bay / Coat and Brooch - J.Crew / Boots - Marc Fisher / All glasses - BonlookI am obsessed with these sunglasses by Karen Walker. I wanted them so badly last year, and finalllly added them to my collection. Paired with a monochromatic blue-on-blue, and some combat boots. I was in a black skinny jeans rut.Sunnies - Karen Walker / Coat - Kate Spade / Turtleneck - handmade by my mom! / Jeans - The Gap / Boots - Michael KorsAnother classic coat - the duffle. This red one from Burberry always makes me feel cozy and bright on even the greyest winter days. If it's not too cold the hood is enough, but it's been extra frosty lately so I've been taking advantage of my giant pom-pom toque.Coat - Burberry / Hat - The Bay / Jeans - The Gap (I have several pairs of the same one, to avoid doing laundry :) ) / Boots - Marc Fisher / Glasses - BonlookA houndstooth print may look busy, but I think it's the perfect canvas to pair with patterned or brightly-coloured scarves. I've been adding this black and pink one to many outfits - it's surprisingly versatile. I'd have to say the star of this outfit was the Starbucks - coffee has been my life source throughout the month of March!Coat - Kate Spade / Scarf and blouse - Aritzia / Pants - Banana Republic / Hat - The Bay / Boots - Marc Fisher / Glasses - BonlookYou can't see it, but I'm wearing my Aritzia turtleneck AGAIN in this outfit! It's my go-to, from October until the weather goes above 5 degrees. I liked the camel colour of the turtleneck with the forest green peacoat, and cream coloured boots and toque. Sometimes I get dressed based on an item (I'll start with shoes or a scarf or piece of jewellery), other times it's based on colours and how they suit my mood. This day was definitely a colour day.Coat - J.Crew / Sweater - Aritzia / Jeans - The Gap / Hat - The Bay / Boots - SEY Collection / Glasses - BonlookEnding off with the most ladylike outfit, and my personal favourite. It's all in the details! Yes this outfit was all black, but it stood out because of the luxe tweed texture on the coat with its contrasting trim, along with the quilted leather gloves, shiny loafers, and wool beret. I felt comfortable, and completely put together.Coat and loafers - J.Crew / Hat - The Bay / Gloves - no longer available / Glasses - BonlookWhew, that was a long one! Thanks as always for reading!! I'd love to hear what you wear to get through those last few COLD days of the season xox
