Weekly Bests 2019.4

This is a short weekly bests - it was a long week, but not altogether a bad one. I worked from home for most of it because of the freezing temperatures and abundance of snow, so I didn't get out much.

Staying in/Alone time/We Should All Be Feminists

I've had a fairly social start to the year, so this week's forced hibernation was actually a good way to help me reset. Besides a few appointments, I spent time resting and relaxing. I did some face masks, watched bad tv with my mom, and read. I finished a book called We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie - this should be mandatory reading for everyone. I especially love how Chimamanda addresses the issue that some people have with the nomenclature (feminist vs. "humanist"/human rights supporter). I am proud to call myself a feminist. Please give the book a read, and if reading is not your thing then watch her TED Talk here.

Zucchini Noodles

My mom and I got really into our spiralizer, and tried two amazing zucchini noodle recipes this week (she made them, I ate them :) ). The first one was a zucchini noodle, snow peas and peanut sauce dish - after spiralizing, my mom cooked the zucchini noodles in a pan with the snow peas and then poured the peanut sauce on top. We used this peanut sauce recipe. The second recipe (Cheesy Zucchini Noodle Quinoa Bake) was my FAVOURITE, I ate it for lunches and dinners, and will be taking it for lunch next week. My mom said she added garlic, pepper, frozen peas, basil, parsley and frozen brussel sprouts - and I added extra extra cheese :)

Cousin Catch Up

My cousin Katie was in town, so my brother and I went over to my grandma's to visit with her, my other cousin Jen, and my aunt. We looked through old photo albums and chatted and had a lovely time :) Good conversation is always a highlight for me.

Bullet Journal

Ok, I am strictly not the type of person who can create and use a bullet journal for my day-to-day organization, but I do like the "habit tracker" component of bullet journals. I set a lot of resolutions this year, and having a habit tracker has definitely made me stay more accountable. I also have a "mood tracker", which has helped me in conjunction with therapy. I also note down the frequency of my migraines (3 last month, not terrible). I set up my bullet journal by watching Amanda Rach Lee - she is very talented, and goes very in depth with her bullet journals!

Lipstick of the Week

I lined my lips with a lipliner from Boots in the shade "caramel", and then layered Plum Pop by Clinique on top. I needed something super moisturizing, but long lasting. The weather was so harsh this week, and my lips were on the dryer side. Thanks for reading!! Xox
