Modern Flapper

I wasn't intending on wearing a twenties-style outfit, but once I threw on the beads I felt like a modern day flapper. If you've been following along these past couple weeks, you might have noticed that I love special and unique details in my accessories and clothing. The little giraffe heads on this necklace sold me!Modern Day Flapper 1Modern Day Flapper 2Modern Day Flapper 3I also love the dusty rose colour of this pleated skirt - it's perfect for spring and summer, and I'm excited to wear it in the autumn with chunky caramel coloured sweaters, grey scarves, and black opaque tights. But why am I even talking about autumn? Let's not go there.Back to ice cream, patios, and air conditioning! I wore this outfit out on a nice warm evening a couple weeks ago. Isn't that the best part about summer? The pleasure of leaving your home without putting on a jacket or coat. In the dead of winter I always picture that moment...opening the door at any time of the day or night, and just being able to walk right out in to summertime.Modern Day Flapper 4Modern Day Flapper 5Life update for you: I'm leaving today on a trip to Sweden and Spain! Yes, I basically used all my vacation days, and yes it will absolutely be worth it! I'm going to visit a dear friend that I studied abroad with a few years ago :) I had no idea how long the flight to Sweden would be. I'm planning on watching the entire 5th season of Game of Thrones, since I wasn't really keeping up. Is it apropro to watch that on the plane? Probs not. I also have five books ready to go, so there will be more book reviews when I return!I'll still be posting regularly, as I have lots of content lined up and ready to go. But if you want to follow along on my travels in real time, please follow me on Instagram and Twitter! Wahoo!Top - Joe Fresh (similar) / Necklace - J. Crew (old) / Skirt - J.
