Something Old Something New
Happy New Year! I’m starting 2017 off with a cold weather outfit post - although in reality it would actually be too frigid in Toronto to wear any kind of footwear without socks at the moment. Perhaps at a later date I’ll show off my clunky boots and parka, but I thought we could begin this year on a high note :) And what is better than a brand new pair of pumps?Azim spoiled me with these Kate Spade beauties. I had every intention of buying them during boxing week, but he does read my blog (especially around Christmas/birthday/anniversary ;)). They were too perfect not to include in an outfit post right away! I absolutely love the combination of the calf-hair leopard print and studs, with the sweetest little bow to tie it all together. You might recognize the camel coat I’m wearing - did you notice that I gave it an upgrade? I must give all the credit to my mom, who found these perfect gold buttons and swapped them out. I liked the look of the brown buttons, but they were imitation leather and just felt cheap. I thought a shiny gold version would look quite smart, and mentioned it to my mom who scored these gems at Fabricland! Does she have an eye for style or what? They were less than $10 for the entire set! A cheap and cheerful way to update a winder wardrobe :)And I also have to thank my bestie for this fabulous clutch. She knows me so well! I think she just looked for the craziest accessory she could find - which is actually the perfect way to shop for me :) I know you won’t believe me when I say this, but this clutch is incredibly versatile and will go with a great variety of outfits. It’s monochromatic for one thing, and the fuzzy bit simply adds a bit of texture and oomph to any toned down look. I paired it with my simple black pants and favourite grey turtleneck sweater.Azim and I initially had a tough time shooting these photos. We prefer to do our photoshoots outside in natural lighting, but there was an extreme weather warning in effect when we had scheduled time to shoot. He definitely made it work, getting creative with the furniture and flash settings, and we both actually love how they turned out!Hope you’re all having a wonderful start to the year so far! Stay warm, and thank you for reading xoxo
