Maxi Coat
Today's post was inspired by my gorgeous mother - she could look glamorous in a paper bag because she carries herself with grace and confidence.I absolutely love when my mom gets dressed up. She styles her hair elegantly, picks out the loveliest diamonds and pearls, and leaves a subtle hint of Angel by Thierry Mugler behind her. Most striking though, is how she wears her clothes; they look perfectly tailored and cut to fit her body. The most versatile piece she owns is her long black maxi coat, a lucky find from our time in Paris. It is so chic, and elevates even the simplest of outfits. I searched high and low to find the perfect version for myself, and eventually settled on the one I'm wearing in today's post. I snatched it up during Aritzia's sale, and I'm so happy I did! The wool-cashmere blend feels super luxe, and it's much warmer than I expected! My mom usually wears her maxi coat with more formal attire, but in today's post I've dressed mine down with denim and a simple cardigan-collared shirt combination. My trusty patent leather boots keep the outfit from looking too casual. I also forgot to take my glasses off for these photos, but I think they complete the outfit :) They're the "Myrtle" style from Bonlook.I also love this gorgeous black carryall bag that Azim got me for Christmas. I was complaining about my old black bag that was falling apart because I carried it to work everyday (often with lunch, a pair of shoes, and a book thrown inside). This beautiful updated version fits nicely in the crook of my arm, but can also be worn as a side-bag with the strap! Super convenient for my walk to and from work. The first time I wore this coat I paired it with black pants, black boots, a black scarf and black gloves, so I felt like Kylo Ren from Star Wars. Not gonna lie - I was humming the Imperial March to myself as I stomped up and down Yonge Street.I hope this post has inspired you to try the maxi silhouette! It looks elegant, keeps your stems warm, and will become one of your most worn pieces. Thanks for reading xox
