Goodbye, February

IMG_2250-3I know I always say this, but the difference is in the details. If I had to give one answer to any style advice questions, it would be that. How different would this outfit be if I didn't have a hat and sunglasses on? And what if I had chosen plain boots instead of patent leather? It may not be your sartorial preference, but it's obvious that I've taken a look and made it my own.IMG_2239-1IMG_2262-7My second style commandment is to put comfort first. I've learned this the hard way over the years! There's nothing worse than holding a certain posture all day, for fear that your dress will bulge or buttons will pop. And uncomfortable shoes? Forget it. Teetering around in ill-fitting heels is agony.  Christian Louboutin once said:" I wouldn't take it as a compliment if someone looked at one of my shoes and said, 'Oh, that looks like a comfortable shoe.' There is a heel that is too high to walk in, certainly. But who cares? You don't have to walk in high heels." Ahh! I couldn't disagree more!! Let's bring back the kitten heels! Long live the block heel-ed shoes :)IMG_2255-1IMG_2253-4I'm trying to make the most out of these last few weeks of (mild) winter weather by wearing all my coats. Last year was so frigid that I wore my parka almost exclusively! This year I've had fun wearing different silhouettes, especially the kimono-style coat in this post. I like wearing it untied and open, although I have belted it in the past.IMG_2256-6I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I just finally started to get over the horrible flu that everyone seems to have caught, and enjoyed the 14 degree temperature we had on Sunday!!
