Spring Shopping Cart (Birthday Wish List) 2017

Spring Shopping Cart - Bday Wishlist Spring is almost upon us! And with it - a wardrobe refresh. I'm still loving my spring purchases from last year, like these mom jeans + sunnies + and striped shirt. This year I picked up a bardot style (aka off the shoulder) linen top, and a striped tie-waist dress - both by Derek Lam. They are investment pieces, but the fit of them is unparalleled to anything I tried on at H&M and Zara. I also grabbed some cropped/distressed hem denim, which is super-trendy at the moment. I'm usually averse to fads, but if a pair of jeans looks flattering, I'll wear them whether they're in style or not (bell bottoms forever!) :)I think my refresh is almost complete (especially with my gorgeous new bras that have given me a great foundation) but there are a few things lingering in my shopping cart...Starting from the top left and going in a swirl:

Sloane Heavenly Cream Tea

This is my FAVOURITE tea. Full stop. My friend Cody thoughtfully picked up a tin for me, and I enjoy it every single day. It's a lovely ritual for me - I open my pantry and admire the pale pink tin before scooping out a tablespoon (I use a golden spoon to measure) into a compostable tea bag. I pour water that has boiled and then settled for a few minutes over, and watch as the water turns almost burgundy and then very dark. At this point the aroma fills the kitchen, and waiting 7 minutes for it too steep truly tests my patience. At last, when it is pretty much opaque, I add just a touch of milk and savour every sip. SIGH.

Aloha Bitches Beaches Sunhat

I love this cheeky hat.

Pinky Signet Ring

I've become enamoured with the idea of a pinky signet ring - totally biting Princess Di's style. I'm always on the hunt for jewellery I can wear everyday, which is surprisingly challenging since I gravitate towards loud, statement pieces. I think an elegant pinky ring would be a perfect pairing with almost any outfit, and I could engrave it with initials for my beloved. A for Azim... or maybe FF for french fries... :)

Socks to Make Me Smile

These socks say "KETCH ME IF YOU CAN" and have little cartoon ketchup bottles and tomatoes all over them. They make me ridiculously happy just looking at them on my screen, I can only imagine how ecstatic I'd be if they were on my feet. These "TURTLEY AMAZING" ones are a close second.

Classic Watch

My little sister (well my cousin, but she's basically my sister) just became a flight attendant, and part of her uniform includes a classic watch. She chose a simple yet stunning style by Fossil, and when she showed me I just couldn't stop staring. It looked so chic! It's not designer, and doesn't ask to be noticed, it's just simply beautiful. I wear my Fitbit almost everyday, but prefer the look of a real timepiece much more. This brown strap + rose gold version with roman numerals is right up my alley.

Smith and Cult Polishes

Holy smokes. These nail polishes make my eyes go sparkly. I've been eyeing them for awhile, but haven't been able to justify the price tag. Scooping up all five of these shades would put me out $100. I absolutely LOVE the names:The bright coral - Psycho CandyThe celadon green - Bitter BuddhistThe powder pink (middle) - Pillow PieThe muted lavender - Fauntleroy (I think my favourite name/shade)The blood red bordeaux - Lovers Creep (the type of colour I wear most often)How great are they?? Visit the site just to read the shade descriptions!

Yoga Mat

I've been doing a lot of my workouts at home in my apartment, and my current exercise mat has become worn out and torn to shreds. I don't use it for yoga - instead, it takes the brunt of all my burpees, jump squats, lunges, and jumping jacks. I don't want to bother my neighbours downstairs, so exercising on the mat softens my landings considerably. Unfortunately, my current mat is now 10 years old and it's starting to show. I adore this pink one from Ban.do, more so because it says exactly what I'm thinking... pizza, anyone?

Karen Walker Sunnies

My love for these sunglasses knows no bounds. I tried them on in Nordstrom last week, and have been scouring the internets for a pair on sale ever since. The price tag is outrageous, but I am pining for them. They framed my face perfectly when I slipped them on, and the pastel pink + rose gold accents made my heart sing. Karen Walker, you just get me.

Mango Slip-On Mules

These are the coolest damn shoes I've seen this year. I've been waiting for them to come back in stock for weeks and weeks, but have not had any luck so far. I visit them online everyday, patiently waiting...and waiting. They are much cooler than the Gucci versions they are inspired by, and I've even contemplated flying over to Europe to find a Mango store and just buy them. Why did Mango leave Toronto? Why are these shoes not already in my closet?Edit: I bought the shoes.Happy almost spring! Hope you're all thawing out, enjoying the extra hours of sunlight, and getting ready for warmth and Vitamin D. Thanks for reading xoxo
