Proud Outfit Repeater
Do you ever find a piece you love to wear so much, that you start to incorporate it into every outfit for weeks on end? I have a few items in my wardrobe that have reached that holy grail status, and one of them is most definitely a navy blazer.
I have a few different navy blazers - in part so that I have to visit the dry cleaner's less often, and in part so that I can mix my outfits up a bit. The one I'm wearing in today's post is the same one I wore in my "How to dress up a pair of jeans and a t-shirt" video, but different than the one in this outfit post from Michigan.
For those not completely immersed in the world of personal style and fashion, it's hard to notice the difference between the outfits I wore in the above-mentioned posts, and the one I'm wearing today...but for me it's a completely different take.
The jeans I'm wearing here are a cropped "kick-flare" style (kind of like a shrunken-mini bell bottom), and could almost pass as dress pants since the denim's wash is uniform and dark.
I've also added a big scarf, which completely changes the look of the outfit. It instantly takes it from the office to hanging out on the weekend. And in fact, that's exactly what I was doing! I had been shopping with two of my girlfriends earlier that day, before going on a date at El Catrin with Azim :)
Although I've waxed on about my love for navy blazers, I think it's pretty obvious that the show-stopping outfit choice is below my ankles.
They are my favourite shoe choice of 2019, and I have a feeling they'll become a classic in my wardrobe. I LOVE platform shoes, especially Stella McCartney's brogue and sneaker styles.
They have a polarizing effect on people - which makes me want to wear them that much more. When I get dressed, I'm never striving for "pretty" - the goal is to incorporate something quirky, weird, or "makes you look twice". That doesn't always happen - I have my basic days - but a great way for that instant levelling up effect (literally), is to put on a pair of platforms.
I'd love to hear about your favourite wardrobe items that you wear on repeat, AND the cool/weird accessories/footwear you can't live without!
Thank you so much for reading :) xo
